April Knit Picks & New Fabric Friday

Only 2 weeks to go until the release of the new Homestead Life BOLT by Girl Charlee range, but today we have 3 more original BOLT fabrics back in stock after selling out quickly last time round!

We have our popular Stag print in mint green and orange, our stunning Gold Sparkle (this really is so pretty!) and our classic Fairisle Deer print in red and green.  

These fabrics are sure to sell out again soon, and the stag print is on it's last print run so get some now before it goes!

Tutorial Tuesday:Comfy Casual Top

To celebrate the return of our Fox Family Fabrics, today's Tutorial Tuesday is for the Comfy, Casual Top for Girls & Ladies from Cheryl of Sew Can Do.  This simple but super cute top only requires about a 1.5m of these beautiful coordinating knits and you can recreate Cheryl's easy-to-sew project with a cowl neckband and removable belt in just one afternoon. Try pairing different prints and colors for a unique look every time! 

What I love about this tutorial is that the techniques involved can be used for any size (both girls and ladies), as you learn to create your own pattern with an existing t-shirt and tracing paper.

Cheryl recommends using a light to medium weight knit fabric with good stretch, like our BOLT by Girl Charlee Collection. Since you only need 1/2 metre for the accent belt and cowl, you can find many fabric options in our precut Half Metres. A few of my picks from the store:

Only a few days until we will be exhibiting at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Edinburgh!  The show is at the Royal Highland Centre and runs from Thursday 27th April through to Sunday 30th April so if you are in the area come along and say hi and see all our beautiful fabrics (including some not even released on the website yet!).   

We are on stand C10.

There are loads of amazing things to do and see at the show other than our wonderful fabrics so it really is a great day out for crafters of all levels.
